Remedial Massage Course

I found the Sports Massage Course at RSM International Academy after an exhaustive search for a school truly grounded in sports medicine. Honestly, I had no plans to travel to Thailand, but after diving into their curriculum and reviews, I became convinced that RSM was the only place offering real, clinical-level education. While massive schools like ITM or Sunshine are popular, they felt more like "massage tourism" to me—mass training without depth. RSM was different; it was clearly built on functional anatomy, biomechanics, and actual science.

As a therapist in my late 20s, I’ve felt a growing sense of dread about the future. With AI, YouTube, and fitness influencers everywhere, clients often walk in with more theoretical knowledge than the professionals. In a market dominated by massive corporations and "celebrity" trainers, if you don't possess high-level, specialized clinical skills, you’re going to get left behind. I realized that without mastering advanced techniques that actually produce results, surviving in this industry would be impossible. I didn't want to be just another "qualified" person who can't actually fix a patient.

The course systematically applies clinical palpation—developed through Trigger Point Therapy—to real-world performance and rehab. We didn't just talk about theory; we covered pain relief, kinetic chain optimization, and advanced joint mobilization (HVLA/LVLA). It’s true sports medicine. Combining these concepts with Trigger Point Therapy over 25 intensive hours gave me more clinical confidence than I ever thought possible in such a short window.

Learning directly under Hironori Ikeda (MSc Sports Medicine) was a game-changer. Hironori’s background is a rare fusion of elite academia and high-stakes clinical practice; he earned his Master’s at the University of Tsukuba—consistently ranked as Asia’s top institution for Sports Science. His expertise is globally recognized, having served as a master trainer for senior therapy teams at world-renowned wellness resorts like Chiva-Som and optimized the conditioning for professional athletes, from Spanish basketball players to elite Croatian fighters.

Beyond the treatment room, his scientific authority is backed by his work on the Japan Industrial Standards (JIS) committee for human ergonomics and his development of patented technology with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). He even coordinates cadaver anatomy labs with Chiang Mai University’s Faculty of Medicine to ensure every technique is grounded in actual anatomical truth. His methodologies, such as the scientifically-validated Balance Ball Yoga system (proven in clinical research at the University of Cagliari), are built on decades of experience.

The atmosphere in the class was intense and professional. I met students from other schools who were genuinely disappointed with their programs, describing them as "entertainment" rather than training. They all wished they had chosen RSM. If you are serious about building a sustainable career and actually surviving in this AI-driven era, RSM is the only choice. I honestly can’t imagine going anywhere else.
